House Physician
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst has an exciting opportunity for a House Physician with experience in Cardiology or Critical Care, to join our CICU team and provide care in our 9 bed CICU and 6 bed Cardiac stepdown unit. This is a nocturnal only position. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced care for patients with acute cardiac conditions, including ACS, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmia, advanced heart failure, post-MI care under the supervision of an attending cardiologist.
- Perform and document comprehensive history and physical examinations.
- Order, interpret and act on diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
- Perform ICU procedures (central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, etc.) as credentialed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
- Collaborate with cardiology fellows, residents, nurses, and ancillary staff.
- Support quality improvement, education, and research activities within the CICU.
- Provide patient/family education and discharge planning.
Candidates must have a MD/DO degree and be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. We offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medical at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. We also offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package. Compensation for this role is $84,000. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
